Our Mission
Veterans Cuts’ mission is to provide complimentary haircuts to any U.S. military veteran as a gesture of gratitude for his/her service to our country.
Our Goals for 2023
- Establish Veterans Cuts as a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
- Raise $35,000 through donations and grants allowing us to provide 50 haircuts and build out our infrastructure.
- Create a network of “boots on the ground” supporting barber shops and salons with the goal of at least one shop/salon in each of the 50 states. *Currently in Illinois and expanding rapidly
Why Do We Do This?
Quite simply, we see a need to give back to our veterans.
How It All Began . . .
“I’m a Barber and through my career I have been blessed by many veterans, both young and old, as clients. I have also given two sons to the military, and that experience has helped them grow into successful young men. These people touched my life with so many beautiful memories that will stay with me forever, which brought me to this. I wanted to give back something that was very dear to my heart. Being a Mom to military veterans, I decided to come up with a way to give back to all those in the military that give us our daily freedom from their sacrifices.
It was then that I met a dear friend, Pete Thomson. With a long family military history as well and a huge respect for veterans, together we put the concept into motion and created our way to give back. We’ve put in endless hours creating all of this and on January 19th of 2023, we provided the first Veterans Cuts haircut in East Peoria, Illinois.
With my dream and Pete’s enthusiasm we are building something organic, pure, honest and honorable. We are beyond proud of what we have built. We hope you will join us in celebrating our vets.”
