Veterans Cuts added Smiles at the VA home in Peoria, IL

December 11th, 2023 ~ Myself & and Hair stylist, Amy Schmidgall took our tools to the VA Home in Peoria, IL and were greeted by several Veterans eager to receive their complimentary haircut.  They had the chairs all set up and were waiting.  A couple were even on the front porch when we arrived.  They were a pleasant group, of all ages.  Some Navy, Army and even a Marine.  Amy jumped in as if that was the chair she’s utilized for ages.  One came after the other, shared memories with us and smiles.  Even after they exited the room, they would turn back up  to tell us again, they loved their haircut and really enjoyed that we took the time to come.  Actually one Veterans hair was down past his shoulders.  He said he was going to wait as long as it took until someone came to cut it LOL.  He told Amy to “buzz it all off.”  She did and smiled.  They thoroughly enjoyed the conversation, we spoke of Christmas and what their wishes were.  They were a happy content bunch.
